Meet our
Allied health team

We have a team of Allied Health staff who work as part of the student support team to assess, plan and implement educational programs across the school. We work collaboratively in classrooms to provide interventions that maximise students’ access to, participation in and success with learning activities. Working in the classroom allows us to upskill all staff to support students and together, implement best therapeutic and educational practice

Kobby

Hi everyone,

Kobby here! I work at Officer Specialist School on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. My birthday is the 21st of February 2023. My main role at OSS is supporting students’ wellbeing, helping them engage in different activities at school and supporting the work of the Allied Health team. And not to mention being fluffy and cute! Throughout 2024, I have been learning how to be a part of the OSS school team and getting to know all the students and staff here. I have even been running a few of my own sessions by reading to classes, teaching students how to cook treats for me, supporting students to regulate our bodies in the Just Right Room and getting all our energy out with gross motor activities outside!

Students and staff have been learning all about what I like and don’t like. I love to be patted on my back, chest and tummy. These are the areas of my body that I feel safe being touched. I tell students ‘Please pat me from the collar down’. I don’t like being over crowded by people and encourage students to take turns when engaging with me.

The Allied Health Team have developed some lessons so that students know how to safely work with me. Classes are completing these lessons before I start working with them. I love working at Officer Specialist School!

Kobby
