Each student at our school has an IEP.
An IEP is a plan that describes the goals, adjustments and strategies to meet a student’s individual educational needs so they can reach their full potential.
Each student’s IEP is planned after consultation with the student and parents/carers with a focus on the student’s strengths and potential to achieve the next steps towards positive educational outcomes.
Each term in week three, a Student Support Group meeting will be held with the parents/carers and student to discuss the IEP, celebrate student progress and address how to continue to support the student.
The IEP will include three priority goals for each student in:
Throughout the year students will also engage in Inquiry Cycles with a focus on specific topics, for example “What’s my story?’ which involves students researching their personal history.
The Inquiry Topics provide students with educational enrichment experiences at their developmental level as each student works towards their individual educational goals.
Parents will receive a report at mid year and end of year through the Compass Platform. The report will provide a snapshot of the student’s learning across the curriculum, their achievements and progress.
